I am using HDFC Diners credit card since last 6-7 months. I was told that this card was free of cost. But they charged me 1600 INR after 3 months. When I registered a complaint, they said that I have to pay this fee because I have signed a document where this fee is mentioned.
Then I did some research and I found that if 10, 000 or more is spent on the card within first 90 days, then this membership fee of 1600 is waived off. I had purchased a camera worth 48000 within first 90 days. So, I registered a new complaint and mentioned this clause.
Then they said that this transaction is converted into EMIs and conversion is not eligible for the fee waiver. I verified the documents received by me and found that this EMI conversion clause is not mentioned anywhere in the document. Still HDFC is insisting that I must pay this membership fee.
I started receiving calls from HDFC collection department. These people speak in harsh language and literally harass the customer for the collection. The collection department and customer care department are not in sync with each other. Customer care department doesn't care about your feedback/complaints. There is also a grievance department which never pays attention to the customer. I never received any reply to my mails sent to grievance department.
Finally I made the FULL payment from my SBI account. Then I received a call from collection department saying that today is the last day for payment and
I must make the payment in cash. I told them that I have already made the payment. They said it takes time to reflect in the system and payment is urgently needed.
I am on my way to make this payment in cash and ruin my Saturday plan because of fraudulent and big time mismanaged HDFC bank. Never ever use ANY service provided by HDFC.
