Hdfc (Harassment,Distress,Frustration forCustomers).
I took a silver card in May,2005 but hdfc could not see me happy.A telemarketer started calling up to tell me I had won a hdfc Healthcard .I refused but the woman went on and on saying my limit would increase to 75,000,it was a free card, I could still keep my silver card ….blah,blah.
The healthcard was delivered to my servant (in my absence) which ofcourse had none of the said features.I also got a statement saying I had cancelled my silver card, (never done by me)done a balance transfer and two annual/joining fees had been charged on two supposedly free cards.Furious I called customer service who have been apologizing for the past 100 calls and doing little elseand was told the card was getting reconverted, I needed to fill some downline form and all wrong and extra charges were getting reversed. Nothing was done.
I met a branch manager whose assistant took over and told me on the side to cancel and reapply.They were confused about what to do.
I got fed up and cancelled everything in October,2005 and was told by a supervisor or whoever was in charge to just pay my shopping bill which was mutually decided at Rs 9000.I paid Rs 4000 there and then and was paying the balance Rs 5000 the next day on receipt of the settlement letter.
Now the best part.Inspite of cutting and sending the cards to Chennai with a 3 page letter almost one year back,I get sinister calls and letters from hdfc threatening to discontinue my card and put me on the defauters list.Is it Hdfc or is it me?The settlement letter has stillnot come and the 100 odd customer service executives I have spoken to in the past one year(who are “sorry and sending the letter right away”)have transferred the case to collections whose antics will fill up another page.A collection agent called Nitin and a policeman called Anup singh have been intimidating me over my phone telling me to appear in court for hdfc.Amen.
