I am using my HDFC credit card for 2 yrs and never satisfied with it. I use my other ABN AMRO credit card and use HDFC only to fill up some gaps.
It never sends statements regularly - either by email or post, even after calling up the customer care and requesting for the duplicate statement - you may not get it at one shot. We need to call up several times to get a duplicate statement.
If you have any issue on accounting, it will never get solved, moreover everytime you will get different communications from different Customer care personnels.
Please see the letter which I have sent to HDFC, this will tell you the latest issues I am facing.
but NEVER EVER TRY TO APPLY FOR HDFC CREDIT CARD if you have not done yet.
I am planning to write to RBI Ombudsman dept regarding this, if they are not reverting back all the finance charges and late payment fees charged on me which is in 4 digit.
" The total due was Rs. 15298.12 as per my Dec’05 statement and the payment due date was 1.1.2006. For which I made a netbanking transfer of Rs. 299 on 22.12.2005 and I have dropped a cheque of Rs. 15000 in the Infinity Building HDFC bank ATM in Salt lake, Kolkata at end of Dec’05.On 7th Jan’06 I got a call from the bank that they didn’t receive the “minimum payment due” amount by due date and bank is calling me up as I bear a good credit history. When I told that I already made the payment, she informed me that due some problem in ATM clearance for last 10-15 days, the cheque did not reach the bank. She requested me to make a payment of Rs. 472 to meet the “minimum payment due” and she will take care that late fees are not charged on my account, as it was not my fault. That day itself, she sent one person to my office to collect Rs 472 and I made that payment too. So, Rs 472 was the extra payment made by me.In Dec’05, I made one transaction on my card of Rs. 6290, so I was expecting only that amount to be charged in my January 2006 statement. However, to my utter surprise, I was charged a late fee of Rs 275.50 + Finance charge 603.18.Again, I called up the customer service and they assured me that it would be taken care of in next statement. So, I made a payment of Rs. 6290 only by the due date and also opted for a balance transfer of Rs 20000 on 20.1.2006.I made the payment of Rs 20000 within scheduled time.But as of now the problem is not solved and I am getting statement from you with all late charges and finance charges. I refuse to pay all those charges, as it was not my fault. I have not done any other transaction also by HDFC credit card.
