I have been using HDFC Bank credit card since the year 2012 and was quite satisfied with it until a very unpleasant instance that took a few days ago. I had a limit of Rupees 2, 62, 000/- on my card. About a month ago, I received a call from a lady claiming to be an executive of HDFC Bank credit card section and informed me that my card was to be enhanced to Regalia card with a limit of Rupees 5 lacs subject to my approval. I was also informed that 40% my reward points available my existing card would be transferred to the new card which could be redeemed to cash if desired by me.
I accepted the offer since this redemption was not available my existing card. Then a confirmation call was received by me from the credit card department and gave the approval for new Regalia card. When I received the card, I was stunned to know the facts. First of all, the limit on the new card was the same as in the old card. Then I inquired with customer care regarding the balance reward points and it was reduced to 40% as the lady had told. But when I asked the executive regarding redemption into cash, he refused. When I told the officer about the offer as told by the earlier lady caller, the officer told that nothing of that sort is admissible. He also told tat the caller could be fake. I was absolutely disappointed with it and decided to surrender the card which is in process at present.
