HDFC credit card a bad experience. Review on HDFC Bank Visa Credit Card

Dear Readers,

I have a very bad experience with HDFC credit cards.

I opted for a HDFC credit card 2 years before in Bangalore.

After one year I wanted to terminate the same. Since it was only one year free.

I tried to reach the call centre number and could not do so in around 10 times in a two three months.

By this time they issued a due statement for this annual charge.

Then I tried to send them email thru website.

1. I could not find any proper mail id in the credit card section.

   
   




2. No weblogin to check the dues

   
   




3. No way to contact them

   
   

Finally I sent one mail to support@hdfc.com which I could find in my SB acount in same site.

I got a response that it is forwarded to creditcard section at customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com and I got a reply from them telling that they will get back to me.

I sent the same reply to them again and again for about 7-8 times and not got even a single reply.

These are their auto-mailer says:

Dear Mr. Sebastian,

Thank you for writing to us.

We are forwarding your query to the Credit card team which will respond to you shortly. Kindly await the correspondence from them.

Call Centre Number -Bangalore / Mysore 9580 25204332 (Please not the this is different from normal banking number and this number is ALWAYS ENGAGED else Please wait.. I waited more than 10/15 minutes atleast 3 times, but could not reach any one.

There was not responses and finally the amount accumulated to 1850/- and I tought I can fight it needed in court.

I found they deducted the amount form SB account and again charged another 750/- for deducting that.

Finally I cut the credit card in to two piece and send them a mail telling they cannot charge me since I did not use the card. I got an acknowledgement and another request to clear dues without delay. (which I contested before they took from my SB account itself and never answered)

Then they started charging interest on that and finally I decided to close the SB account as well and in the process now to escape further harassment from them.

So my recommendation that never go to HDFC for credit cards. They are good for normal Banking. Never bother about a customer in credit card business. Also for any banks never go for SB account & credit card in same bank.
