Believe it or not but HDFC Bank is not a right place to start your career with and there are several reasons for that.
1) Salary is good but doesn't compensate the hard work you put in and neither the risk you take on a daily basis being in this industry.
2) Job security is definitely there, but only if you are ready to compromise with your personal life.
3) If you are lucky enough to get posted in any Metro or Urban Location, probably you may get some opportunities down the line, but if your place of work is semi-urban or rural area then growth will be very slow and life will be hell.
4) The very first thing I can associate with the name HDFC Bank is immense work pressure. If you think you are workaholic then you can test your limits here. But keep in mind that by doing lot work and taking lot of responsibilities you are only proving yourself as a labour in the eyes of your seniors.
5) The first thing you start hating as soon as you join the bank is the work environment. Be ready to give sales or in my words false commitment to your boss every morning and then be ready to tolerate the abusive language when you will not be able to deliver what you committed, which obviously no one will ever be able to do.
