From the past 2 months, I was looking out for a change. That time I had around 2 years & 4 months of experience. I came to know that HCL is hiring so I forwarded my resume to one of their HR, in noida. Afte few days, I recieved a call from an HR from Chennai & he arranged one interview for me next day. I gave interview with HCL. By that time I sent my resume to couple of other companies & received a call from them also. Fortunately I got selected in all the three companies & other companies offered me before HCL did. But Since, HCL called me before any other companies, I called the same HR & told him that I have other offers in hand, so if I am through to HCL please let me know. Then, the HR asked me the expected salary. I told him I want at least the same package which other companies are offering me, but I expect 10% more than the others, but even if you HCL offer me the same package, I'll think about it. Till 2 more days, HCL tried to bring me down in salary aspects & also asked me to forward the other offers to HCL, which I did not. I told them that this is unethical for me to forward other companies offer letter to any one as they are confidential data (I had not told them the companies which offerred me).
This continued for few days. Then I told HR that leave it, I'll join the other company which is offering me. Then, after few hours another HR named Badur Nawaz called me & again asked me my expected CTC. I gave the same answer to him. Then, Badur told me that he can not offer me that much. So, I told him not to offer me as I am not joining HCL anymore. Then after couple of days, again Badur called me & told me that he can not offer me what other companies are offering me. And again he asked me to forward me the other companies offer letter to him so that he'll try to give me the same package. Again, I told Badur that I can not forward the offer letter to him, if he wants to offer me, offer on the base of trust, Once I recieve the offer letter & accept that offer letter, then I'll show him my other companies offer letter (Showing the offer letter & forwarding the offer letter is different). He did not called me back nor mailed. After a week or so, he offerred me the same package which other companies were offering me, but joining date was not the one which I asked for (I asked him 30 days notice period in current company, & he gave me only 20 days). But, by that time I was very much frustrated with his behaviour, so I rejected the offer by HCL.
Within few minutes, he called me & asked me the reason of rejecting the offer. I told him 2 reasons, 1, date of joining 2. My personal reasons. He again tried to convince me again to accept the offer. But again, I rejected so he went ahead & told me "I know you are like this from before". Fine, I dint said anything. I told this story to one of my good friends, as he also applied in HCL. After hearing this, he also decided not to go with HCL. Next day, he got a call from Badur & Badur asked if he is interested to join. He also rejected. Next day, badur called me & again asked me the reason of rejection. I told him the same reasons. Then again he started the discussion & told me " I am an HR. Today I am in HCL, tomorrow I may be in Accenture or may be in some other company. I can spoil your career." & During the end of conversation, he told me that " I think, you should your mouth up & fu*k off."
This time I really got angry because this is completly unprofessional. I have escalated this issue to head of the recruitment. They told me that because of bad situation in market, Badur would be in Pressure & thats why he used this statement. Now, is this bad market only with employers & not for employees? That doesn't mean that anyone can use this type of language?
I am letting you guys know about his. Guys/Gals, please think twice before joining. Also think 10 times before dealing with Badur Nawaz.
