I appeared for an Interview with this organization. To begin with, the interview was scheduled at 9:30 am at their Noida facility (although it was a walk in but I had received a proper mail specifically mentioning the time as 9:30 am). It was a chilly winter morning, all the fellow candidates were shivering in the cold, but the gates were opened not before 10am since no one from the HR had turned up on time.

Okay so that's how you treat experienced professionals. Not turning up on time and making candidates shiver outside the premises. Way to go HCL!

I managed to clear both the technical rounds, and was told by the HR person that I would get a HR round call within a few days. The call did come. Yes.and the HR asked me to fill some forms on their website before they give out the offer letter. I did as told and waited for the offer letter. But never did it come. I called up and mailed the HR repeatedly to enquire about the status of the offer but they didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Finally after a lot of persuasion, I got to know that the offer was "ON HOLD" (I think HCL HR people put offers on hold just for fun's sake). No reason was given for the offer being on hold indefinitely. Later I somehow managed  to get the info that it went on hold as the vacancies were already filled. I have no issues with that, but atleast they could have communicated it to me.

Then again I appeared for an interview with HCL after one month. This time again I cleared the tech rounds and got a call from HR (male). He asked me some basic questions and the expected CTC. Since I was already having an offer from another company, my expected CTC was as per the offer I already had. The phone got disconnected abruptly and even though I called back thrice, nobody picked it up. Later again I got to know through a friend that my offer has again gone "ON HOLD" (see I told you these people just love it.) Since my expected CTC was very high, that was THE most amusing thing I've ever come across. An HR disconnecting the call because he got panicky after hearing my expected CTC and didn't have the common sense to negotiate on it. (And seriously I tell you guys. the expected CTC was not sky high. I have friends (batchmates) who've got higher offers).

I have just a little advice for the HR people at HCL. Guys please learn some Negotiation Skills.you don't really need to put the phone down if you cannot digest an expected CTC. Also HR means Human Resources. at least learn the basic etiquettes of how to manage humans (read: candidates).

Its only going to bring a bad name to the organization you are working for.

There is no need to hold an endless number of walk-ins if you really are not interested in giving a justified CTC/ offer letter to the aspirants. It seems as though you are looking to get the most 'sasta' engineer by offering them as less as you can.
