Shri Guruvayoor temple is located at thrissur district in kerala. its a beautiful big temple in kerala style with great mythological stories behind it. the deinty there is lord krishna. vacation time i.e from the month of april to june the temple is visited by huge crowd. the place is extremely beautiful it has got a pond, a marvellous garden. there is a temple hall and auditorim too.
The auditorium hosts many artistic functions like classical dance shows of bharathanatyam, mohiniaattam, kathakali, kathak, also carnatic classical song shows. at the entrance of the temple inside there in front of the main srikovil there are 2 huge elephant tusks kept, which is the tusk of a great, intelligent & believed to have godly faith elephant of guruvayoor called " Guruvayoor keshavan" . also in the garden a life sized statue of guruvayoor keshavan is made. one attending the temple in the morning can accompany sheeveli, nirmalya pooja. after that consequently comes the usha pooja, uchapooja .
In the evening there is deeparadhana. there is certain dresscode for the devotees who visit the temple, mens can only wear mund; shirt has to me removed inside the main gopuram, womens can only wear saree, churidhar. to perform poojas there are pooja counters inside one can state the list of poojas, pay cash & take the receipt to perform them. prasadham also is to be collected from the counters itself. annadhanam facilitiy is also avialble. many private hotels are available for the stay. awesome place to visit with family. its great serenity over there. all those who visit kerala dont return without visiting guruvayoor. guruvayoor railway station is there buses also lead to the temple
