Sanjay jadhav and Ankush Chaudhari combo comes again! After checkmate and duniyadari, comes Guru. Guru is a good action entertainer, with super comic-timing, and its heart at the right place. Sanjay Jadhav is really good at making movies that look great. Guru is an out-and-out commercial entertainer.
Story:
Movie starts with Guru Desai( Ankush chodhari) which is a good natured theif, who lives with Mai and his friends in Mumbai. Inspector Mahale, a local police inspector, is always on Guru’s case, trying to find a chance to arrest Guru for his work. All is fine till Guru witnesses a murder. Guru’s life is in danger because the murder is done by a very rich and powerful man. Guru decides to hide in his village, with his Madhav Dada( Avinash narkar) and Vahini, and their two kids. Guru encounters some local village problems, as the corrupt village MLA, Mansingh( Murli sharma), is out to sell the village out. He hurts Madhav when he tries to protest. Somewhere between all this, Guru finds the time with Ovi aka Mango Dolly( Urmila) .from here the movie gets more and more predictable, and you can see where the movie is headed.
This is the story of Guru.
Performance:
Performance wise all actors done a good job. Ankush Chaudhari is funny and looks great throughout the movie. Murli Sharma is very natural act as the corrupt, local MLA. Urmila Kanetkar looks pretty and does her job well.Ravindra in a very small role, but leaves impact on audience. All other supporting cast done fairly good job.
Pluses: actors performance, direction, some good comedy scenes, good timepass entertainer.
Minuses/cons: Simple story, predictable screenplay, very poor songs, some comedy scenes goes flat, length.
Overall Guru is a good movie if you leave your brain home and its just timepass entertained genre. It’s has a good mixture of comedy and action. All in all, it’s a good family entertainer for this weekend.
