Almost a week since the ''Stuck in the middle'' chapter at Eden Gardens...and it refuses to go down!

Lets admit it, we can jot down pages and pages on it...as it was all over the channels! But here I would prefer to be precise with the flow of my thoughts...and hence spare quite a few sighs! ;)

As per some section of media, some BCCI members (or ex-members) and greg himself....''Its a very light matter and not much attention should be paid to it!''

Some people even question the authenticity of the controversy.....''Did Greg even show his middle finger?''. Then let me clear the clouds......

(a). There is a video footage, which shows clearly the same.

(b). Greg himself has admitted to doing that. Greg admitted ''Yes, I did.'' But he also added later a statement which was ''But if my middle finger sticks out because it is longer than my other fingers, that's a national controversy!''

Some people call the statements made by Greg as Frankness....and some term as Impudence! Choice is ours! lol

Now, the cricket Chiefs are planning on taking this up with Greg in of of their meetings, but they have clarifies that no action will be taken against him. May be after confirming we will issue a warning.

Views:

1.In Black and White...Greg's gesture didnot in anyway go in either a good behaviour or good humour! Showing the middle finger is completely repulsive....and there cannot be any ambiguity about it!

Yet Again =(a) The crowd instigated him all the while by booing at Sachin and cheering the SAs. So, in a way Greg showed his finger to that section of the crowd, which was Anti-India in their support! (I find this logic of mine funny).

2.I do not believe that action against Greg should be due to his Nationality! But I am also not undermining the general sentiment! Just think....could he have imagined doing the gesture in US of A, UK or any other nation for matter! Let alone if he has done it in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan!

He happens to be a foreigner, and he better behave when he is standing, surviving and servicing on Indian soil! how could he even do that??

Its these kind of emotionally challenged people, who instigate such extremism!

Yet Again =What would have we done, if it had been done by an Indian? Say may be some Bollywood hotshot..it might just have made headlines..and would have died away! So, may be we are being too harsh on Guru Greg.

3. Greg Chappell happens to be Coach to a game, which is like a religion in India! Hence, that puts him in a responsible position. By that gesture...he is showing his own weakness, he is showing that he is incapable of controlling his emotions! Then how can I trust him with the Indian team!

Yet Again =May be it was done in the ''Heat of the moment''. But you are still left a section of the crowd who felt insulted!

4. By doing this and also getting away with the same, will empower Greg with a lot of power, which could be detrimental to the spirit of coming Indian Captains!

It will also strengthen and in a way justify what he did. Meaning..today I can finger any crowd, tomorrow I can slap anyone..who instigates me!!!

Yet Again =Lets think of this issue being in Greg's shoes. he has a string reputation to maintain...especially after the debacle named Ganguly hit him back! So, either he tries to kill the controversy and learn from it. or admit his fault and ruin his chances forever! As let me assure you that this issue will not stop by just his apology!

Last thing that I would want out of this controversy would be the criticism of Kolkata crowd! I will always stand shoulder to shoulder with them!

There was a time when ganguly was kept out of Indian team for four years when others were being given repeated chance to play, at that time no kolkata crowd created an issue out of it! And hence, they were opposing the way Ganguly was sent out this time, which I agree to great an extent!

And secondly, its just a game.and we all know that its always been difficult handling a huge crowd!

Hence, I fail to sympathise with Guru Greg here.
