I learnt about green tea while learning Japanese language as a new project requirement at office. The Japanese are known to drink and love their green Tea which they supposedly call it Ocha.My Japanese instructor used to mention, much about the benefits of green tea so much so that I started scouting for a pack of Green tea. I was lucky enough to find a brand called 'Jade' which sold green tea bags. I really am not aware if other (better) brands exist. Thus started my association with green tea. For one, green tea tastes very raw and is quite unpleasant on the taste buds. I was rather curious to read the benefits of green tea, which this particular brand claims on its package. Green tea is supposed to cure Cancer, Restricts the increase of blood cholesterol, controls high blood pressure, lowers the blood sugar level, delays the ageing process!! Green tea is also known to have food poison deterring quality in addition to refreshing the body faster than the normal tea, Not to speak of its ability to fight viruses, preventing the formation of tooth cavities. A nutritionist friend of mine even tells me that it can be a good functional food! and even helps greatly in preventing hardening of arteries. I must here say that my association with green tea is not long enough to write a conclusion on the benefits of drinking this tea. But it surely is different and a couple of cups a day without the milk is worth trying and believe me it doesn't taste all that bad either. Cheers
