A morning without a tea is not a good morning, for the tea-lover, including me, coz I can’t start a day without my cup of tea. After a tiring day and hectic work schedule, cup of ‘strong’ tea gives me refreshment and energize me to move forward.

Tea is the most commonly consumed beverage in the world. Whether it is Black tea, Red tea or Green tea, they all contain polyphenols which give tea its antioxidant properties. Antioxidants may protect our body from free radical damage.

I prefer milk tea (especially ginger ‘adrakwala’) more than black tea (without milk), but I like black tea sometimes coz it gives a different flavor in ur daily dose of milk tea. I was hearing from long time about Green tea, but have never tried it. I felt what is the Green tea, does it taste like grass or vegetables or wht, so I was unsure how it would taste..? So, thought why not to taste it. So, without breaking my everyday routine of milk tea, I tried Green tea. You don’t have to put much effort to make Green-tea coz u’ll get it packed with healthy stuff. According to the history of Green tea, it is made from the dried leaves of the Camellia Sinensis Plant. History reveals its origin is from China between 4,000 – 5,000 years ago.

What is the difference between Green tea and the Black tea (red tea, milk tea, lemon tea), you are used to??? Well, it all comes from the same plant (Camellia Sinensis), but the only difference is in the processing. Green tea is dried but not fermented like black tea, thus keeping in the powerful antioxidants lost in the fermenting process. The more processing tea leaves undergo, the darker they will turn. Green tea is the least processed tea, they are simply steamed quickly. Black and Red teas are partially dried, crushed and fermented.

All the different kinds of Green tea have different flavors, but they have a taste in common. The flavor of Green tea can be described as fresh, light, green or grassy kind. Some varieties of Green tea have a bit of sweetness to them, and some are a little astringent. Green tea is not usually served with milk or sugar, but its ur choice. :)

Green tea is one of the most popular beverages in the world. Green tea is said to have many health benefits such as lowering your cholesterol, boosting your immune system, prevents blood clotting and help to prevent cavities and tooth decay & many more. Green tea is said to be good for health but rarely some side-effects are seen. But after taking it if u experience some symptoms or any side effect that seems unusual, then stop it and do analyze it whether it works for u or not. Most important, if you are taking blood thinner such as Warfarin then plz do not use Green tea without talking to your doctor. Green tea contains a large amount of caffeine.

There are varieties of Green Tea (tea bags and loose tea) and to choose a good one from many u can go for a good brand, especially if your city has a Chinatown area, you’ll probably find some best Green teas there, coz its origin is China, so u can get the best kind of Green tea from there.

How to brew Green tea ?? Oh, its simple as you would brew any other kind of tea but…. It has different process to prepare. The main thing and most important is not to over brew Green tea. Green tea is more delicate than black, so it will be good to keep the water a little cooler. Brewing when your water is just about to hit the boil is good otherwise ‘polyphenols’ that provide health benefits can ruin the flavor. The quantity of tea u can add is one to two teaspoons, depending on the variety of Green tea.

Here m stopping my keys and going to have my cup of tea, so why don’t u also try it…. Srupp… srupp… srupp… :D
