Gorakhpur is one of the prime city of uttarpardesh, located 100 km from Nepal border and about 273 km from lucknow. Roughly 20% of people are affected of Flood in rainy season, drainage system of the city is not that good at all, which causes lot of issues during rainy season.
Transport connectvity with other city is good, as we get bus for all the major cities. Railway connectivity is also very efficient as it also connects the route to most of the big cities of country. Intra city transport is also cheap and easily available, metro project is also underprocess.
Gorakhpur has got two major university for education Deen Dayal upadhya Gorakhpur university and Madan Mohan Malaviya university of technology. It has also got AIIMS.
Gita press world’s largest publisher is also located in gorakhpur.
Most importantly, this city is home to gorakhnath math, Gorakhnath mandir.
But after soo much positives, here comes real issues that we face as visitor:
No proper facility of Sanitation, as we move into city dust and dirt will cover you, Your ear got pipped with horn, noise.Road is only good in main city but once you move to inner area of city road vanishes, no proper drainage system. Hotel facility is ok ok. if you book high class hotel then its good otherwise in most of the hotel there is issue of sanitation.Life runs hapazardly there.No major tourist attraction any more, don’t carry lot of expectation with you while visiting, it’s like very average looking city which lacks proper development.
