I have used several search engines, but Google is definitely my favourite:
It is very fast
You can choose your own language
Their database is very very large, so you are getting a lot more results than when you are using Yahoo or Lycos
The site is a pleasure to look at: bright colours, and no adds
It is easy to submit your own URL
