Being an ardent Google fan, I could not wait to get my hands on Google Pixel XL. In the initial days, 128 GB model of Pixel XL was out of stock for some time on Flipkart. So I went to many showrooms and finally found one at Reliance Digital, Phoenix Market City, Bangalore.
Initially, I was so happy with the product that I convinced my brother too, who lives in Kolkata, to buy this phone. In fact, got another similar phone from the same shop and took it with me as I was flying there.
The camera is indeed awesome. You can not compare it with any other. But thats where the good story ends. Within 3 months, I had to reset it twice( thrice now, in seven months), talk to their customer care a zillion times and been to there service centre(techincally HTC's) once or twice. There are so many niggling problems in this so called'premium' phone. It used to hang without any warning and at the most inopportune times. While talking the screen disappears and you are left trying frantically to find the screen to disconnect the call. The battery gets discharged in 12 hrs for no apparent reason and most interestingly, the phone does not connect to the network after coming in the range once it has gone out, as in case of a flight. I have never got so many complaints from people whom I(or the phone by its own will) have called without my own knowledge.
I have been very disappointed with the phone as it is a no value for money phone if you take off the camera part. Total thumbsdown to it. It has brought disrepute to the Google name.
