Google was always criticized for launching phones with mediocre cameras and not-so-loud/clear speakers. But now things have changed, Google has learned from the mistakes or additions people have been asking for.

Google Nexus 6P is that kind of beast one can wish for using as a daily driver.

Collecting my thoughts about this device, here are some positives and negatives of the Google Flagship device, the elder brother of Nexus 5X and a great successor to Nexus 6.

Positives:

  1. Display:

With a sharp and shining beautiful display with least amount of bezel, Nexus 6P has got a bit large 5.7 QHD AMOLED display with 518 PPI Pixel Density( approx.) . I'm not a fan of AMOLED Displays but this very screen can beat almost every competitor in the QHD Display section. It is bright enough to show every content when you are roaming outdoors and gives sharp and crisp output.

  1. Camera:

Google Nexus devices were criticized every year for having a mediocre camera but with a 12.3MP rear shooter it clicks brilliant photos. With the Lazer Autofocus and great optics, the rear camera performs very well. If you're at home, or playing outdoors with your pals and when a moment drops by, you can rely on this smartphone camera as it will never disappoint you. Front facing 8MP camera with HDR is perfect for taking good selfies. Low light imaging on both the camers is amazingly great.

Just adding: Lack of OIS makes 4k video shooting a bit difficult task as the output will be shaky.

  1. Speakers:

Thanks to front facing dual speakers, Nexus 6P works like a charm, it is loud enough but when at the highest level, you can notice some distortion, but that's acceptable. When you really start using front facing dual speakers, there's no coming back from such an experience.

  1. Software UI

With latest Android Marshmallow, this turns out to be a sweet ride with the best optimizations from the hardware, you will fall in love with the latest and greatest. Pure Stock Android, Pure Love. With no extra system apps and unnecessary goodies, this device is worth having.

  1. Hardware

With 3GB RAM and powerful processor matched with a great GPU( not going much technical here) you will hardly notice any lag. You want to throw any app or game on to this device, it will handle such challenges like a boss. I experienced no overheating issues with heavy usage too. Also mentioning, it includes a fast and accurate fingerprint sensor at the back.

  1. Battery:

With a rocking 3450 mAh battery, plus Doze feature of Android Marshmallow, expect an amazing battery life, which every smartphone user dreams of. With Fast Charging, you can really be carefree throughout the day.

Negatives:

  1. Non expandable storage:

Lack of expandable storage can be a deal breaker for those who are not willing to pay extra cash for more storage options. Really wished they included such an option.

  1. Not suitable for single handed usage:

Having a bigger screen, 5.7 inches device can really be tougher to use. These days devices are getting bigger and the real purpose of having a smartphone is fading away. We need phones with bigger and better battery, not a giant phone.

  1. Price:

Yes, it costs less than many flagships, but for countries like India, 40, 000+ INR( January 2016) is too much to spend for on a smartphone.

Conclusion:

If you have a will or desire of using a perfect smartphone, go for this device, it will never disappoint you. For the poeple who usually change devices in a year, you just have to measure the pros and cons but it will fit perfectly in your wish-list.

In my country( India) it cant be labeled as a budget smartphone, but it is the best Nexus Device ever launched and clearly one of the best smartphones launched.
