Has it actually “Gone with the wind”?

Hats Off!! For Margaret Mitchell for writing such a great novel or better known as “The greatest love story of all time… Gone with The wind”. Is it really a love story? I just completed this book and was so influenced with it that I thought, would enlighten you guys about it LoL!!

The whole story moves around Scarlett O’Hara, our heroine :-) an ambitious girl, during the time of American Civil war. No!! She is not that goody goody types who is accepted by everyone. She is cute, cunning and jealous and allows nothing to come between her and what she wants. She leaves everything that bothers her for tomorrow “After all, tomorrow is another day.” the best phrase of this novel.

All the characters are perfectly placed along with the story line. Ashley (a perfect hero), Scarletts sweetheart, a very week dependent goody goody guy, who could not even take his own decisions. Rhett Butler (villain? Nope, the hero), a businessman, not accepted by the masses, a bit more cunning than Scarlett, who loves to be in his own world and does whatever he feels is right and what would benefit him or his love ones in the long run. The worst was he could understand what our heroine was thinking at any point of time ;-)Then there’s Melanie (our heroine’s enemy/friend, Ashley’s wife), a perfect lady always thinking about others goodwill, sacrificing, loved by everybody.

The story is about all these characters, how they act in different situations during the war and their deep love/hate relation with each other. Its about the war time when everything was so tensed around and a slightest noise can make your body shiver then as the war goes on how even the bombshells seems to be normal thing until one drops near you. How people and everything around changes after the war. Its about how the most cunning and sharp people like Scarlett and Rhett could get what they want after the war, when everyone has to start from scratch and everyone are penniless then the actual race starts about who’s the best, will get the best. It has Love, Hate, Lust, Jealousy, anger, all the emotions everything that keeps the story moving.

Then there are loyal servants the Negro’s, the way they speak English, Phew… had a tough time reading it, the long description of the war situation and explaining the plot is quite boring in between :-( you can of course skip them who’s stopping you ;-).

The best characters (according to me) are, Scarlett, about the hardship, about how she struggles and faces all the problems that comes across during the war and still manages to get what she wants and Rhett Butler, having everything which scarlet wants and enjoys teasing him, making her want things badly and then just give her. The two are alike characters that want to rule the other. The different twists in the story line keeps you go on n on n on with the book. Every time you think everything is perfect now, wait for something that will surprise you even more.

The moral of the story, according to happyz the great ;-): if you look what and who is/are close to you, you will find everything. If you go on looking for something that’s far and in the end realize it was never meant for you it’s a waste. Although you can still get it if you are as ambitious as our heroine, Scarlett is ;-)

Yesss!! It’s a love story, it shows how love keeps you ticking and you find a way out for reaching it!! “After all, tomorrow is another day”

Neah!! I am not a spoilsport, won’t tell you the story that will spoil the fun. Just wait till you read it!! You surely wont regret reading it. So Enjoy and be Happy when you complete it, as I am today. No don’t let the 1024 pages keep you away from reading this book!! It will just get over with the wind? It will be remembered as great for years to come and will never be gone with the wind.
