Where do I start.

I'm all for slapstick films but certainly those that bring a smile to your face. After all, if we can't enjoy slapstick or situational comedies, then we can't enjoy anything! The problem with this film is that the whole process of film making is overturned by Mr Shetty as he shows us that no-meaning slapstick humour is all about sticking a couple of scenes together and polish up the songs and throw it in the cinemas for a Diwali release. The scenes that usually take 2-3 minutes to showcase the directors point, are taken 8-9 minutes and the problem is that half of the scenes are not even close to funny!

Let me go into the ladies - now when you have Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley & Anjana Sukhani, atleast dress them up properly, I mean I didn't think Mr Rohit Shetty has good eye for women anyway but certainly a decent costume designer wouldn't have hampered, considering the budget is fairly big. Kareena Kapoor is looking awful these days - that can't be blamed on the film - she has a big face with a skeleton body, which looks like some creature. She plays the role of a saas-bahu serial watching over-possesive wife and she is awful to say the least. Amrita Arora looks like that ugly teacher in school - acts like hmmmmm - oh well, Its Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley is wearing some 1940s victorian dress', talks with a South Indian accent and still the hopes of an acting performance from her is not worth it. Anjana Sukhani's role turns out quite funny, when you realise the irony of Tusshar Kapoor liking her, its great however the poor girl doesn't have much of a role.

Men, I think Arshad Warsi is one of them actors that if you let free to act, he will ruin the entire film, he is so over the top, he makes Himesh Reshammiya look like a normal natural actor. For no reason Arshad is laughing, dancing, his dialogue delivery is like a frog you've just strangled. Shreyas Talpade is 'bakwaas', absolute torrid, here's where you miss Sharman Joshi, the role was completely suited to him. Tusshar Kapoor is just there to showcase weird facial expressions and take the mick out of a disabillity, even though I laughed when he states 'M______D'  in his humming ability!

As I said earlier, none of the scenes make sense to one another, Tusshar in one has to reconstruct a misunderstanding, which is so frustrating for the viewer, another one is Arshad Warsi dancing after he finds a way of trying to do over Ajay Devgan and it is pathetic! the snake guy also comes back to haunt, which is another boredom piece of cinema.

HOWEVER

Contemporary visioned directors, I'm a big fan of and shockingly for me, it brilliantly shot - gives out a great feel. I feel that this is the best film Rohit Shetty has made in terms of the technical department. Ajay Devgan is the only guy who act's normally, do remember the story, he's surrounded by a bunch of Idiots, Wife an Idiot, Sister an Idiot, Brother in-law an Idiot, Sisters boyfriend an Idiot, employee cum friend is also an Idiot and as the saying goes, 'paagalo ke saath, aadmi paagal ho jaata hai' - with the mad, you become mad. Ajay's comedy is improving but everyone knows this is not his genre but does the job to his best of ability. He is hillarious in the yacht scene where he keeps switching channels only to find love making scenes on and suddenly you see him cross his legs as he realises that his manhood is on the rise. Another one that comes to mind is his sudden outbreak to Kareena and all the dialogue is a syllabus on his previous films, suddenly Sheryas Talpade states you missed out 'Cash' & 'Rgv ki Aag' and Ajay says 'chup bey' LOL - Brilliant. See, even an intelligent person like Ajay Devgan can make a jibe at his not-so-good films! Great man, hopefully now he'll get back to what his plus pointer is, the genre of thrillers, action, drama, emotional etc - slapstick is fine but just the fact that he's probably too good for these kind of films or simply, that he doesn't suit these films. There is also a spoof on Saawariya & Black which is brilliant!

Music is OK, I mean nothing special though I have to say that there is one song named 'Tha Kar Ke' and its the films masterstroke, yes it does have the imaginary gun throwing, shooting by itself, the kind of seen in a Rajnikanth movie but the rest of it is real class, I think the tickets price is worth it, atleast for me!

I didn't mention the story, since it's not that typr of film but putting it basically, it turns out to be a murder mystery with the main culprit in a situation that only Rohit Shetty could have thought of!

All in all, strictly below average for me. I guess we all knew that the film was going to have a basic story with Idiots as characters, don't expect some comical masterpiece but if you can sit through a film with silly scenes, silly dialogues, silly situations and silly characters - then please do sit through it. One of those films, where you sit, watch, and walk out, infact run out. Wouldn't want to get stuck in the traffic now, would we?
