Charni road, being dominated by a major portion of the city’s vegetarian crowd, the location of Golden Star Thali couldn’t have been better than this. Just try getting a table on a Sunday lunch and you’ll know how popular this one is among the localities. However, I’m not sure if there are people dropping by from other parts of the city too.
The price is quite okay in my opinion. I mean, 400 INR for one person is decent enough, right? Moreover, the no. of items in the thali is quite higher than other thali restaurants like Rajdhani etc. Although the quality is somehow inferior to what you get there, there’s hardly anything to complain about. The number of items on the menu makes up for everything else.
This place is more pleasing when you are a Jain or Gujju, staying away from home. They give you the taste of some nice home-cooked food. The service is prompt and it also has a good upkeep and maintenance by the staff. It somehow feels good to see people speaking their mother tongues in a city like Mumbai.
