Godrej split is one of the worst split air conditioners in India. Let me explain my experience here. I bought this ac 1.5 yrs back for my second bed room (which is rarely used). I am using carrier durakool form my master bed room. I bought it for my second bedroom which is idle most of the days. I will use it on Sundays () or if any guests came . . Purchase price was approx. Rs.18000. 1 ton 3 star. It worked for 6 months without any issues and started water leaking from indoor unit inside.
I called toll-free and technician came. They cleaned the AC. They said the exhaust hose was clogged. Same repeated within shot time and they have cleared it. Next time I contacted them with same complaint and they said that there is an installation defect and I have to correct installation as the dealer did the installation. I contacted the dealer and the dealer Was no more interested in reinstalling the unit. Finally, Godrej authorized service centre persons agreed to re install the AC @ discounted rate ( approx. 700 or 600). Finally the AC started working again without water leakage. The warranty was over and I started paying for regular services. But the water leaking issue is again occurred last month. I waited for weeks and sensed the more water is leaking and my room is filled with water. I again contacted godrej and service Centre guys came immediately and verdict came .
“There is gas leakage in the out door unit, I need to top-up gas” and water leakage is common for godrej AC. It requires some filming to avoid water leakage” cost will be approx 600 for filming and 1000 for gas top-up.”
they explained their AMC charges. 4600 for 4 years. Which I can’t digest. This AC will force us to spend RS 1200 per year. Otherwise it may create problems.
Anyway I admit that the service centre guys were so genuine and customer friendly .it seems that they are somehow managing this defective godrej AC. They promised to resolve the issues and I am awaiting it. I understood that godrej AC is a defective product. Friends, please stay away from this brand.
I don’t blame the service centre guys they are always attending my issues with great care with friendly manner, very polite. But the product is bad. Please stay away.
