I spent 6 weeks in Goa last year and fell in love with the place. If there is anyway I could live over there I would jump at the chance. Spent 5 weeks in the capital Panjim and then the last week in Calangute staying at the Log Cabin. Met loads of really great people over there.
I went during the monsoon season and boy did it rain. Didn't stop me getting sunburnt on a 30 min bike trip in between downpours. If anyone is going over there and visiting Calangute then say hi to everyone at 2Pac and The Shamrock. Can't wait to go back.
On my first night in Goa I dropped all my stuff off at the hotel in Panjim and got a taxi to Calangute. Went to the Log Cabin and got absolutely slaughtered. Being monsoon season it was quiet. Only me a couple of locals and a group of English girls who were working up in Mumbai during the week. Woke up in my hotel room not knowing how the hell I got back. Luckily Ray who works at the Cabin put me in a taxi. He told me later that I was singing on the Karaoke all night. Ooops. Couldn't thank him enough.
If anyone sees a chubby guy hanging round The Shamrock its probably Paul who spent most of his time trying to cadge drinks off people but he is really funny. Never met an Indian who sings Bob Marley quite like he does.
