When I got an email from the Gmail support team entitling for me to sign up for Gmail I was over whelmed ..I was waiting for this oppurtunity to get an account in Gmail ..It is a privilege just to have an account in Gmail.
Features
It has some great features ..You can label any message you want and even prevent from creating folders ..The labelled message remains in your inbox too ..The filters are also too good ..The compose windown opens in another page ,The compose page loads very very quickly unlike yahoo where it is stuffed with ads ..It has no unnecassary things in it .Though a lot needs to be done ..You cant send HTML messages throught unlike yahoo ..
And if you wanna compare it with yahoo ,even many features like briefcase,notepad,vacation reply colour setting still miss in this beta version of Gmail ..
Gmail is in noway competing with yahoo ...They are the one who are providing search service to yahoo ..And moreover both the creators of YAhoo and Google are from the same Satanfor University ..
The problem lies in singing up ,,Whcih is pretty cumbersome .If you have a friend who is using Gmail ,He has to be randomly picked by th gmal team to award him Inviaions whoch he cans sned it to his fiornds ..
But the speed is great ..It has great security features to avoid same @ the primary level by not allowing short names as usernames. And moreover you cant even kepp your password which is more kinda common ..
when you want to delete a message you need to send it to trash and then select delete forever to get a message ''why do u need to delete messages whwn u have 1000 Mb ''..This sort of messages makes it more interactive and I am looking for the new and revised Gmail ..
It has already soared at the top of the top 10 email providers list in about.com ..
Its greatest strength is its simplicity ..
At the last I would like to advice u to take a look at it if yoiu get a chance to do it ..
