Expensive, Good for Hepatology and Nephrology. Review on Global Hospital - Gowrivakkam - Chennai

We visited Chennai couple of times for the following hospitals:

We found each hospital is best in its categories with some success and failures stories.

For Global Hospitals Chennai, I suggest that Hepatology(liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, pancreas and Lever Transplantation) and Nephrology(dialysis and kidney transplantation) related patients can visit there.

There are lot of good doctors. For Hepatology, Dr. Dineshkumar Jothi Mani, Senior Consultant, is recommended. He is not only a doctor but also a good human being. We got the same comments / reviews for similar other patients group like us. At least he can be approached anytime, listens carefully, advise minimum tests and stays in touch with patients.

Costs at Global Hospitals:

Global Hopitals is not designed for the poors. They get lot of foreign patients from South Asia, Middle east and Africa. Even a living donor lever transplantation costs will start from USD 45, 000.00(Rupees 30 Lakhs).

Please bargain for your packages of treatments. For queries, please check with Patient Services departments and if required and necessary also please check with your doctors for the Pros and Cons and each details of your treatment packages. Please note, some diagnosis even costs more than Lakh rupees.

For expensive medicines please buy from outside. Sometimes, 10 tablets comes with 10 tablets free and some of the 10 tables may costs Rupees 45000(Rupees forty five thousands). There are some donor organizations and NGOs who give the offer that buy 10 tablets and get 10 tablets. And these promotions can be availed only from outside medicine shop. Please ASK and check for this at your medicine shop/store.

Please always keep / retain all of your money receipts with with, suggested to file this properly for your own records. Otherwise some costs by mistake can be doubled.

Please always ask for detailed and itemized bills for each day for each category of items in order to avoid any kinds of surprises for you.

Most of the cases, the packages come with lot of exclusions. Please read and understand these carefully. Otherwise, based on the patients complexities this may end up with more than double of the initial package value and also have to stay for treatments and follow-up for 4-6 months and in some cases for 8 months.

This Global Hospital is not designed for the poor.
