The GITANJALI is the milestone for our indian culture and civilization, its a unique creation of Tagore, its a life time achievement for indian culture, one who wants to know about indian culture and civilization must read this book. its a golden asset for bengali literature. Gitanjali is a collection of poems by the original bengali collection of 157 poems was published on 14/08/1910. This collection won the nobel prize for tagore in 1913. This volume includes the original introduction of William Buttler yeast that accompanied the 1911 English language version. It contained translation of 53 poems from the original bengali GITANJALI, as well as 50 other poems which were from Tagore's drama Achalayatan and 8 other books of poetry- mainly Gitimalaya(17 poems), Navedeya(15 poems) and Kheya(11 poems).
