Ghost Ship comes from the makers of Thirteen Ghosts. It falls in the same category as 13 Ghosts, except this one has a cast.
A team of Boat Salvagers come are given a proposal by a virtually unknown man, to salvage a big Ocean Liner that disappeared mysteriously in the '60s somewhere off the coast of Alaska. The salvagers agree.
One on the boat, mysterious things start to happen. The salvagers see things, discover dead bodies and a lot of gold. And then one by one, they are hacked off.
Who survives at the end ? Who is killing them and why ? are some of the questions that the story-teller tries to answer.
The REview :
Ghost Ship tries real hard to be different and it succeeds to a certain level. The little girl is a revelation, she is an excellent actor, in the league of Joel Osment. The performances by the cast are good but somewhat over the top.
The movie is bound in cliches and stereotypical characters. The basic premise of the plot is the only saving grace. The seige as described by the little girl is one of the best executed MTVesque sequences seen on the big screen. The music that accompanies is mind blowing. The movie is good, but not special enough to spend 10 bucks watching it in a Theater.
Its good fun when you're at home, DVDing an evening away.
