Holy doughnuts Nicolas Cage! Not U. Review on Ghost Rider Movie

Ghost Rider-the devil's bounty hunter, riding into town on his Hell bike and collecting evil souls that have jumped Hell prison. Hah! Still interested?

Holy doughnuts Nicolas Cage! Not you man for crying out loud! How come Cage ends up dishing bullsh*it in the form of parallel universes, toeing the line between the living and the dead, alter personalities, signing a deal with the devil and the rest of the jabberdash. Then all of that with some cracker jack effects and here we are—old arrack(certainly not wine) in a new jazzy bottle—that’s ‘Ghost Rider’ the movie for you.

Old Arrack. Well this movie reeks of old timers like “The Crow”, “Spawn”, “Constantine”, “Scorpion King” blah blah… If you’ve seen those you can get a fair idea where this biker’s heading.  Big machine, a dude who’s undead un-alive, half human, half something else, riding into town cuz its payback time.  Brandon Lee did justice with this kinda freak show in “The Crow”. It’s just that we are used to see Cage in much more serious and meaningful flicks and not comical crypt tales.

Inspired by Marvel comics, Ghost Rider is the tale of motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze [Nicolas Cage], who’s, out to seek revenge for his lost love, and makes a pact with – the devil(we’ve had that before haven’t we?). Though this pact actually hurts his sweetheart Roxanne(Eva Mendes) By day, Johnny’s a motorcycle stuntman pulling off superhuman tricks; by night he is transformed into a burning demon on wheels with his chain, bike and shotgun as he hunts down those who bring pain to the innocent. Johnny becomes the biker who can walk both worlds, and will soon have to face the Baddie Blackheart(Wes Bentley), son of the devil, who recruits the Elementals of the world to unleash hell.

So wot the hell was new about that? Director Mark Johnson has done his masala job well. Cage boy does justice to his tag of excellent actor though this might not be the right stage for depicting so. Peter Fonda's role is also good. But that's it. All good actors in a nincompoop show. It’s a silly old comic book plot but amazing stunts and cinematics will make sure you get your bucks’ worth of sorts. A good movie is the one that makes you watch it again. This surely ain’t that type.
