Harris Jayaraj is now one of the most sought after musicians in today's music world. This comes as no surprise after hit albums like Minnalae, Kovil, Kaakha Kaakha, Samurai plus some more hit albums. His recent releases, Ullam Ketkumae, Anniyan and Totti Jaya have also become popular. Harris seems to be on a roll this days. Therefore, the expectation on Ghajini's soundtrack is enormous. Let's see how he did.

1) Suttum vizhi

A wonderful song by Harris. This song is without any doubt the best song of this album. The soft melody will captivate you if you listen to it when you are relaxed. The lyrics are just incredible and so soothing to listen to. The camera tecnique used in the song is adds a good overall feel to the song. The dancing seems to be akward at some places but it is okay. Credit to Sriram Parthasarathy and Bombay Jayashree for making this song what it is. A hit. The verdict-5 out of 5.

2) Oru Maalai

This song will definitely be remembered as one of Harris best. It can be heard over and over again and it never loses its charm. The song is beautifully rendered by Kartik, who is no stranger to the music industry. His voice and intonations blend nicely for this song. The soft, Western tune of this song is another strength of this song. The lyrics are nicely done by Thamarai, who provided lyrics in Kaakha Kaakha. It is also worth mentioning that the visuals suit the song very well. Credit should be given to Surya who danced very well for this song though not for the whole song. I would give it a 5 out of 5.

3) Rahatullah

A fast paced song with foot tapping music. I enjoyed the first time I heard it. Anupama's voice definitely is a bonus for this song. The lyrics are are quite decent, in the sense that it doesn't hurt your ears. However, the song lacks that extra something that separates good songs from the great. Asin does justice and her dancing suits the song. A well deserved 4 out of 5.

4) X-Machi

Firstly, Nayanthara's dressing was horrible. But the song also has lyrics that are not so clear. The music is purely Western and quite unique too thanks to some splendid ochestration by Harris. Mathangi and Nakul did their job well enough. In fact, the song doesn't match this film as it is performed in a college cultural show. I think it's a 4 out of 5.

5) Rangola

The song didn't impress me when I first heard it. The beat and music gave me the ''heard this before'' feeling. But after hearing the song over and over again, I guess the song is quite okay too. The music is racy but repetitive at some places. Shankar Mahadevan and Sujatha sung the song very well as they are established singers. The dance again suits the song quite well. Overall, 3.5 out of 5.

Overall, Ghajini is quite a good album with quality songs. Good job harris and keep on giving us more hit song in future.
