I Just got back from watching Ghajini for the first time in like 5 – 6 years or so since kabhie Khushie Kabhie Gham I had to miss two shows as both shows where house full, I had never had to miss a show before because it was houseful. Ghajini was a big rage and I was just as pumped for it but did the big Aamir Khan movie live up to the hype? Two words “Hell Yes”.
After Taare Zameen Par Aamir has done it again! I did not watch the tamil version so just bits and peaces. All I have seen is the last fight scene of the tamil version and the first 10mins and good thing I did not watch the rest. The movie start of exacutly like the tamil version with aamir khans introduction scene he is beating up a man. The ending is diffrent from what I have seen. The tamil version I saw a fight in a flood or water? Anyways back to this ghajini I will not give much away but the movie is very well made and holds your attension very well. I was affraid the flash back scenes will be boring and would slow the movie down because all I wanted to see was just action but evan the love story is very intresting.
Sanjay (Aamir Khan) Is suffering from acute short term memory where he can only remember things for about 15mins or so. He has an apartment where he labels everything where it goes. He takes pictures of people he meets and finds clues of what happen to his girlfriend Kalpna. He is in search for Ghajini. Who is Ghajini? What is Ghajini I will not give it away. What griped me the most was the diary scenes where there was flashback moments of Sanjay and Kalpna, of how they met, the story was very intresting and always ended with you wanting more. You the audeince will be wanting more information to how Sanjay has ended the way he has and how Kalpna ended up dead. There love story is so simple that you eat away at yourself of how a simple story like this could end in the way it did. Also how did it happen and when did it happen. Thats the brilliantness of this movie it makes you want more. The present scenes where Sanjay is memory lossed is also very breathtaking because of the vilonce and the way he lives his life with having short term memory loss. The movie is 3 hours long but you never think its that long as alot is happening.
The music goes as below average, Guzarish is the best track then followed by Bekha and Kaise Mujhe has grown on. The background music is poor, only the guzarish background music is very well done.
Aamir Khan as Sanjay/Sachin is mindblowing, I never thought aamir would ever do a crazy man role like this. His best and I mean best performance of ALL TIME. Yes I am an Aamir fan I have seen all his movies and when I say this is his best performance of all time it means there is no words. You know Aamir for doing some amazing acting so when he tops amazing there is no words. He was mindblowing. His emotions his anger, his love, his simpleness as Sachin is just to amazing, I just can not discribe it. Watch out for the scene in the hispital where he reads his diary and goes crazy with fury. There is just no words, Aamir is just breathtaking! He looks amazing as well, he looks tonk and built like hell and his Ghajini look is just damn cool!
Asin is so likeable, your heart goes out to her and she is funny and cute as hell, she does really well and it is one amazing performance she is just too cute and with aamir she equally shares the spot light. Lets put it this way you know why sanjay would be in love with her, her chrecter is just loveable that you think of her as your very own well also because she is kind, sweet, cute and beautiful and she shows that so well on her debute,
Pradeep Rawat is also amazing, you really start to hate him which is what a good villan should do, he is evil ruthless and very dirty! Great villan. Jiah khan who was in Nashb before does better this time here in ghajini and delivers a likeable performance.
The direction is well done, camera work is well done, action sequance are done so well, it is not over the top matrix stuff all the time its very gory at time but it is gory for a reason and not just put in there without any reason what so ever. Some song placements where a little weird. The latoo song should have not been there, I found that a little weird I would say, other wise the screenplay and flow of the movie is spot on.
Overal Ghajini is just super, I just wish it had better music but the movie, the story, is a masterpeace and I might go watch it again. If you want to just have fun and watch an off the edge of your seat action flick Ghajini is it. I rate it as one of the best action flicks of all time in bollywood, it really is just breathtaking!
