Ghajini Rocks. Review on Ghajini (2008)

Lets get right to it. Ghajini is not typical hindi cinema aka ur yash raj type film in fact watching ghajini u dont see a bollywood film nor a hollywood film its something all by itself. The film is hard hitting cinema no 2 ways about it. Its in ur face non stop and is executed masterfully. If u want to think about a film that cud come close to compare ghajini to think about Company. Beautiful film that never go its due from fans. Its gripping, thrilling and of course no engineered happy ending so bring ur kleenex u will need it.

The story is hard to tell bcoz it will reveal the film but the basis I will say which almost everyone already aware of anyways. Aamir's wife die and in the process he loses his memory. Since then he is very forgetful and can only retain info for certain lengths of time then he forgets hence all the pics u see in his flat. He snap pics and write notes so when he lose his memory he can read it and remember. He is investigating his wife's death and thatz the basis of the story to get revenge coz from very start of film itself u see Asin whisper to him GHAJINI so he is looking for this crap throughout the film. Supposedly the man who murder his wife. So u see flashbacks of his life of how he met Asin and their romance and then to present time.

first half of the film -

The film starts off SLOW infact dont despair coz first 20 mins will test uyor nerves and I was starting to think oh gosh this film is crap but just be patient the tale will unravel itself quite nicely indeed. Aamir's intro is of course well done. Aamir luks absolutely fantastic I dont think his body has been photoshopped the guy is in amazing condition. Asin intro in song that came out of nowhere was very abrupt and cud have been handled in a better manner. But this is a minor issue almost a non issue by the time u get to the climax of the film its all but forgotten. The first half of ghajini belongs 100% to Asin. She eases u right into the film wid her humour and bubbly personality and her dialouge delivery is quite perfect. She is the life and soul of first half of the film amid all the serious drama wid Aamir going on. You can see why aamir falls for her so easily. She luks fabulous. The first half of course is full of comic scenes and aamir mistaken identity is too hilarious the whole theater was in laughter about her love story lolzzzzz I dont want to spoil it for u guys so watch the movie u will understand. Its riveting my phone rang I didnt even bother looking away from screen to check who was calling u dont want to miss a minute of the film.

First half rating 4.5/5

second half -

Second half is defintely the serious and the BEST half of the film. The film picks up speed at an alarming rate and you are dying to know the story of aamir and asin and what happens. The film keeps u guessing and u want to know more and it tells u slowly the story. The second half will forever be remembered for the sequence towards the climax where asin is hiding in her flat. This must be the most brilliantly executed sequence in a film in long long time. WOW. Just AMAZING. And when ghajini hits the ground wid the metal rod HOLY FUKKK that is some serious drama am telling u I see everyone who wearing glasses in the cinema hall taking it off and wiping tears away and u can hear the sniffling that scene will make u cry guaranteed. I cud watch it a hundred more times and aamir khan what expressions he has in that scene SUPERB. The climax itself is the best thing about the film in my opinion. The fighting done in the climax is AMAZING godamnn aamir is too gud here. Now I feel the film shud have ended after the villain is dead but seems Director A.R. Murugadoss dont want to make the tere naam mistake so u get a good ending wid a beautiful song really u cant ask for more.

Second half rating - 5/5 PERFECT

Music - ok the music is complicated but u watch the movie the compositions make perfect sense indeed and the songs are beautiful. Guzarish and Kaise Mujhe are the best song for me. AR has done well indeed. 5/5. I know listening on cd the music sounds weird but watch the film guys u will get it. The background music is TOO GOOD.

Direction - brilliant very minor issues and those are few. Hats off to Director A.R. Murugadoss 4.5/5

Acting:

Asin - super performance luks gr8 wid aamir no complaints about her. 4.5/5

Aamir - well lets not beat around the bush I read Taran review calling it aamir best performance to date and after watching ghajini its easy to agree. To get a different expression every 15mins to start back brand new all over again it takes talent. At interval everyone in cinema was saying wow aamir khan is really a talented actor just look at him. Aamir steals the show he has given SUPERB BRILLIANT AMAZING FANTASTIC (add as many adjectives as u wish here) performance. BEST of the yr no questions about it. 5/5

The villain dude - fcukk this guy is insane gr8 job and he makes everyone laugh he saying dialouge about short term memory loss LMAO. 4/5

Jiah khan - dont really care for her but she got the job done. Decent. 3/5

Box office status - ghajini is QUALITY film and as u know quality dont spell good collections infact the reverse. Ghajini will def get big opening but I dont see lot of repeat value in this film its a hard hitting film not just another timepass film to watch and be merry. So how well it will sustain remains to be seen.

Ghajini lives up to the hype and then some. Best film of the year easily. Best performance by actor goes to Aamir Khan for a once in lifetime performance in ghajini. Hold all awards for ghajini. Aamir khan, asin, murugadoss will all win awards here. SUPER SUPER SUPER film.

Overall rating - first half I rated 4.5 and second half 5 so overall it shud be 4.75 but after watching the complete package my rating is -

Aamir Khan has yet again transcended hindi cinema give this man a sincere bow what a true artist indeed of bollywood.

And one last thing to add it will be completely stupid to even try and compare rnbdj and ghajini or even the acting of srk and aamir dont even try to compare u are wasting ur time.
