Passport is called an international travel document or your personal identification document in abroad. If you want to travel abroad you must have a passport. So, it's better to have a passport ready for international travel, because without a passport you can not travel out of India.

I would like to share Documents required and easy tips for the new passport.

First of all, you must have two types of documents ready, to begin with, your passport application form.

1) Birthdate Proof:

  • Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths or the Municipal Corporation

  • Transfer/School leaving/Matriculation Certificate issued by the school last attended/ recognized educational board

  • Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar

  • Election Photo Identity Card(EPIC) issued by the Election Commission of India

  • PAN Card issued by the Income Tax Department

  • Driving License issued by the Transport department of concerned state Government

  • A declaration was given by the Head of the Orphanage/Child Care Home on their official letterhead of the organization confirming the DOB of the applicant

2) Residential Address Proof:

  • Electricity bill

  • Proof of Gas Connection

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Water Bill

  • Election Commission Photo ID card

  • Photo Passbook of running Bank Account

  • Parent's passport copy, in case of minors(First and last page)

  • Spouse's passport copy(First and last page including family details mentioning applicant's name as the spouse of the passport holder), (provided the applicant's present address matches the address mentioned in the spouse's passport)

Keep ready as many documents you can from the above list which will fast-track your application process.

Note: the Most important thing you must remember is in all the documents you provide must have same name spellings and date of birth written. There must not be any difference in your full name spelling and date of birth.

Next step is you have to fill up the application form online from the below website and book the appointment for next available slot. Take the printout of this completed form and attach all docs xerox copy with the application form.

Visit the Passport Seva Kendra you selected for your appointment get verified your application with all original documents.

You will receive police verification call within one week and after police verification done you will receive your passport within 15 days.

For ordinary passport application the fee is Rs.1500 and if you higher an agent in case you don't know process how to fill up the application form online then he might charge extra Rs, 1000 as his own fee to arrange docs, fill up form and set passport Seva Kendra appointment date.

Below are the direct weblinks to apply for a new passport on your own.
