Branded sweat shop. Review on Genpact

Let me first summarize the essence of Genpact with one example. The salary of Genpact's CEO at roughly about Rs. 50 Crores a year is one of the highest in the Indian IT industry, and it has increased more than 10 times in the last 10 years. The entry level salary, on the other hand, at about Rs. 1 lakh per year is one of the lowest in the industry, and it has not changed in the last 10 years.

That's Genpact for you. Where there is a privileged class of employees, depending on political affiliation. If you are close to the masters and part of the coterie you are beyond all rules and can twist everything the way you want. But if you are not in the privileged class, well you would wish you would have suffered in Hell instead!

Please be clear. Genpact is not GE. It has fallen far down the gutter from the GE professional standards. Now its a sweat shop where a handful of leaders (read politicians) close to the Power Centers of the company run their own territories in the company like its their ancestral fiefdom.They are so powerful that they can make their own rules no one can raise voice against them. Its exactly like a backward village in the hinterland where the Thakur rules. Law and order, police, courts everything bows down to the thakur. If you are close to the Thakur you get promotions without doing anything, you can harass girls and get away with it. HR looks the other way and if the girl lodges a complaint then takes prompt steps to terminate her employment.And the Thakurs go to public stages, industry bodies touting their integrity policy, diversity policy. What a sham!Most of the self-respecting senior people in HR have left.

With only bottom of the barrel deadwoods and chronies ruling the fiefdoms.Does anyone know that Genpact hired hundreds of people and fired them after a few months without giving them any work and it happens all the time.Its your worst nightmare come true as a professional ! Stay away if you are out, and get the hell out if you are in.
