Reiki, the Japanese word for Universal Life Force.  This is a method used for healing yourself and others through complete body energy transfer.

This ancient art of healing was rediscovered about 200 years ago by Dr. Mikao Usui, in Japan.  It was used primarily in ancient Asian countries thousands of years ago as a means of curing almost anything imaginable.

It is a form of spiritual healing, which can only be achieved, it you truly believe in it!

A Reiki practitioner(Usually someone who has been taught from generation to generation) gently lays his hands on key locations of your body, with no real pressure applied.  This is supposed to bring a warm, relaxing and tingling feelings to your body, as it relaxes your mind and body through a complete release of an energy force.

It is said to be able to ease, and sometimes eliminate the symptoms of, allergies, mood swings, behavior, stress, depression and even trauma and critical care.

There have been some documented cases of Reiki curing patients of cancer, lung diseases, tumors, seizures, etc.

As with all forms of alternative medicine, it is not medically proven and you truly have to believe in it's powers for it to be effective.

It usually takes a series of sessions with the practitioner ranging from 2 sessions in one week to a series of 6 or 8 sessions in 6 weeks for any results(if any) to come about.

There is no harm in trying this for any ailment you have, but, there is also no guaranty it will ease or cure your problem either.
