End of THE GREAT ERA / Resale
Sep 09, 2009 10:11 AM 2307 Views

end of THE GREAT ERA

With Hyundai stopping the production of GETZ, era of the greatest hatchback comes to a tragic end. With i20 topping the sales chart it was obvious thta Hyundai wouldnt have continued with Getz but they could have leased a life to her for few more years. Its unbelievable that such a great car had such a short span of life(5 years!). But GUYS we can't be too emotional as car companies are here to make profit and not to care for some emotional fools like we, GETZ LOVERS. Anyway Guys I am gonna keep her for as long as it takes. She is the first Love of my life(well second, I guess!)

RESALE!

I really wonder why we(Indians) always keep talk about resale value. In country where no car is ever scrapped and average ownership period is 9 years(source BM), why do we even have to worry about resale. C'mon guys start thinking beyond RESALE. You live in ur car, you have many good moments of your life in your car, its not just a mode of transportation, don't treat it like dirt. Petrol cars(even new diesel's) if properly serviced will run for 10 years without any problem. And u will be surprised to know that u r have spent only 150 Rs./day for that lovely GETZ of yours(for average ownership period).Don’t believe me,

see

150Rs x 365 days=54750Rs

54750Rs x 9 years= 492750Rs.(cost of ur petrol Getz!)

For Diesel, its 200 Rs.

And don't forget first car is like first love. So go on and buy NEW ONES but never sell your first car.
