Hi friends, I would like review over the idea of wearing of helmets. this will be of two parts
why we should wear helmets
is it required for pillion riders.
is it necessary for govt to make rules of " mandatory helmets".
is the rule the only way that govt can discharge the duty.
first and foremost I support the very idea of wearing helmet. its our primary duty towards our family, and eventually to our society that we save our life and body . its just like life insurance we have to assume the risk and get necessary action irerspective of biological or economical reasons
For pillion riders, I strongly belive that should be left for the riders to decide.
As far as imposing a rule, it may seem to be rude to us, some neo socialist and humanist may say that it should be personal choice, but to ensure uniformness and safety the best way is that we get a rule to follow . this is just a simple thing just like a signal or following lanes.
now the biggest question IS THE LAW ONLY WAY FOR THE GOVT?, why dont govt pass a legislation that two wheeler companies have to sell bikes with helmet as standard accessory.
there may be size issue but that can be always administered by companies. this is just like car with seatbelts as mandarory accessory.
now if govt could pass the onus of a helmet wearing to the companies at the salepoint itself, I am sure that all of us will be using a good helmet rather than a one for the namesake of law.
I would like to have debates from our mouthshut members.
