Kaff Chimney poor quality. Review on General Tips on an Electric Chimney

I purchased a Mabel Kaff Chimney on 21st june 2004 after getting swayed by their advertisements without much serious thought on feedbacks. It was supplied by their Nanak International which is their Gurgaon office. Everything went OK for just a year thus covering their warranty period and then started the woes. One fine day the chimney wouldn't work. The service centre people were called and they said that the Motor had short circuited...reason given was high voltage. I argued as to how their can be over voltage when its connected through the fridge stabiliser and more so voltage fluctuation is not a problem is Sheikh Sarai-1 in the heart of South Delhi. I had to shell out Rs. 150 for site visit and again Rs. 1800 for the new motor. Then I got to know from my friends that I should not have gone in for Kaff chimney which give a lot of problems. I am stuck but I shall advise other consumers not to go in for this brand.

Now, a new gimmick. No Annual Maintanance Contract please. Buy the chimney and go to dogs. I don't care attitude. Office at Gurgaon contact no. 9910990141 is brusque and is pleased if he can bang down the phone if you dare to compalin too much. My AMC for last year was with them and due to no service provided as promised (4 services free in that year) they after some argument continued the AMC till 15/04/2009 as per AMC no. KH/023. Now in Sept 2008 they refuse any such deal and pay up for all complaints or get lost. Mind you, you shall have plenty of complaints, sometimes the motor will become noisy, sometimes the motor will burn out etc etc. Buy a Kaff and shell out at a regular basi. I am suffering and am cursing the day when I made the blunder of going in for this make.
