We bought this faber mark chimney from jpnagar, vivek's - bangalore.
then came the installation nightmare. The technician from Subash.com called, and he says he will show up for installation.
He comes up a day later and does a "mark up". The main purpose is to demand money for flexible pipe(at 450/m). so he collects 825/- from the folks and leaves. Similar demand is described here.

Here's one more.

Then we got a bit suspicious, because the showroom folks said only about 25/ft regular plastic pipe. then we talked to 1-800 number from faber-box, and then got hold of another mobile-no of the person in-charge in Subash.com. He didn't talk but only his assistant. That lady tells, noone can do such demand for flexibile-pipe and said she'll figure out.
Later the technician calls and yells at us, saying why called the agency regarding this. He goes on to say, go ahead and proceed with the installation ourselves.(we should have gone on with another agency number that Faber gave, which is Vinayaga agencies, but our money is locked up with this guy).
The next day, he calls back and says he wants to come and do installation. He brings a flexible plastic-pipe and says he had already bought this for us, and we have to accept it.
Then he proceeds with installation, which is the most shabbiest installation ever seen.
He finishes and leaves collecting his remaining Rs.175/-, with my folks didn't noticing much.
I came back from work and looked at it, and noticed that it was tilted one-side and started looking around.
Lets begin with this. Notice the difference in the heights between the 2 sides.

Then on looking closer, one side has not been properly fitted at all.
That side is completely rocking with just push and pull of a hand.

Then further looking closer, the screw has been hammered in(instead of being screwed in the wall).

Then I had to completely remove it, and as one can see, one-side screw has not been driven properly at all.

That was the costliest and shabbiest installation and literally I had to spend couple of hrs in the weekend again, fixing the same.

Also noticed that the flexible-plastic pipe doesn't really add any value and it is clearly a rip-off. Be careful when Subash.com's technician says that.(Avoid them, if he insists and talk to Faber to refer you to some other agency for the installation).
In Gilma chimneys, from what I heard, they pack in some amount of piping and normally the quoted price includes the installation also.(which might be better to save from these scrupulous agency people).
Thanks and regards,
