HIMALAYAS: Just a touch away!
Apr 09, 2016 12:22 PM 6536 Views

India is blessed with many high mountain ranges that holds the beauty of nature, diverse cultures, different trades but one-type of people. Every place that I have been to, has given me different experience and new story to tell. All that gorgeous pictures of foreign locations you see online and tempt you to visit them are present in India as well. Let me tell you the truth, India is as beautiful as those locations. Always been mesmerized by the Himalayas, I have dreamt of looking them from a closer view. So when I got an opportunity to travel to Kausani, I jumped on the opportunity. When the time to visit Kausani arrived, I was as giddy as a school kid can be. My one of travel dreams was about to come true.

Touchdown Dehradun and then the travel to Kausani comprised of zillions(yes I am exaggerating, but I felt so) of scenic beauty. The roller-coaster rides through the valley, trees standing tall, terrace-farming, green lush paddy farms and people dressed in so many colours, was a sight for curious eyes. On being lost our way, people were helpful and patient as it was tough for us to understand their accent a bit.

On arrival to the destination and checking-in, I could not believe the view from my room. I was simply AWESTRUCK. I was speechless or maybe even dumbfounded. The scene that I could see from my balcony was of snow-clad peaks of Himalayan foothills. I have never felt so excited and relieved at the same time. It was an explosion of mixed emotions within me. The serenity, calmness and peace that anyone could feel, was completely different.

The standing tall ranges with snow caps appear golden during the sunrise, as sun rays bounce off them. Never could I have ever had such beautiful experience. No doubt, they are the Guardians of the North; giants and calm. Travel goals now include exploring every corner of India, because I believe there are many more destinations with more beautiful anecdotes.
