With this post I want to share my experience of online shopping mainly with regard to their services with all fellow online shoppers. I have been buying online now from long enough and have bought from different popular websites. Now I would like to catalogue here my experience with most of them if not all of them;
1. Flipkart: I started undoubtedly with Flipkart as I think they are really serious player in the field and my experience with the site have been generally good. The products they ship are genuine and delivery is also prompt. The packaging also is always good no matter how good the original packing is they always do their packing also. But one thing I would like to add that I try to buy things from WS Retail(their own warehouse) only as far as possible. I have not been able to develop same kind of confidence with other sellers in Flipkart. There are no bad experiences though but its just like that.
2.Snapdeal: The second biggest e-retailer in country currently but I really can't vouch for its services in the same breath as of Flipkart. I have used Snapdeal on many occasions but its just not upto the level. The main drawback is its an aggregator of sellers like ebay so you really can't be sure of your purchase as you don't know from whom you are buying and how good he is. I have found them really poor on delivery and packaging front also. One plus thing is their vast range of products which no one else is offering yet.
3. Amazon.in: Another big player in the field and really trying to be a major player if not numero uno in near future, though they are in the race to be the no. 1 in long run. Amazon is also currently an aggregator of sellers but its not by choice as they are constrained by Indian FDI policy which don't allow them to have their own warehouses. Their packaging is definitely better than Snapdeal and also at times they provide better value for money especially in electronic items. Also there is nothing like minimum value for free shipping so at times it works favorably. But I would say delivery is not as prompt as Flipkart as I think they are trying to promote their premium paid service of 1/2 day delivery. I am saying this because once I ordered something under normal delivery and the product was shipped through Fedex and though the product had reached Delhi one day earlier but was not delivered to me as it was not a priority shipping this was told to me by Fedex customercare. I was following the product as I wanted it on that day and was going out of station next day. Lastly I collected the item from Fedex warehouse on my own.
4. Ebay.in: Many of the things I have said about Snapdeal also stands for ebay but it scores over it as in ebay we can check the seller details freely and also we can read their review before choosing a particular seller. It also sells anything a seller can offer so if you want to buy any bizarre thing which you can't find online anywhere else try ebay.
5.Babyoye: Its offering are only for kids so it may not be relevant for many. I started with this site as soon as Karishma Kapoor ads were there in TV. Their products are good and genuine and also delivery is good but it lacks in providing value for money as all the items are at MRP only so good for Sale season.
6. Myntra: It deals mainly in Apparels so product range is limited but its service is good. When I bought first time from Myntra I was amazed by their delivery which was almost next day in Delhi though the local shipping may have helped but it was really amazing. Their offerings are good and provide great deals specially in Sale seasons.
I think I should stop by now as it has become long and readers may lose their interest as well as patience. Maybe in second installment I shall write some more.
