I was in search of a good health insurance plan for myself with my family. But after reading a lot of comments and reviews in various websites and blogs and knowing about the practical experiences of different persons known or related to me, regarding performances of the insurers, I have concluded that paying premium for medical or health insurance is an almost useless expenditure except for the purpose of taxation benefits.
The basic idea of getting relief from an uncertain huge expenditures due to medical grounds through medical or health insurance is totally ignored by all the insurers without any doubt. Before selling of the policies, their agents always show the lighted side of the moon. But the dark side of the moon appears only at the hour of need.
TPAs are not contactable for 24 hours and are not well-behaved in most cases. They always do delay in approving the CASHLESS benefit what is most wanted in the crucial time. REIMBURSEMENT Process is also time-consuming and uncertain as the TPAs/Insurers always reject the claims on the ground of PRE-EXISTING DISEASES even in the genuine cases. Only a few lucky insureds are reimbursed with a percentage, not the whole of the total expenditures incurred by them, even after producing all the relevant and necessary documents.
The nexus among the INSURER-TPA-NURSING HOME is nothing but a viscious circle in which the poor insured or policyholder is victimized. Therefore, in my opinion, HEALTH / MEDICAL INSURANCE IS NOTHING BUT A MIRAGE TO THE INSUREDS. So ultimately, I keep myself abstain from taking up any such policy.
