Recently I booked a ticket(PNR 6249145823, Journey date: 07.02.16) in 3A class in Sealdah-New Delhi Duranto Express(Train no 12259) via Tatkal service. I faced extreme difficulties while booking the ticket through IRCTC website. But that's a different story which I'll describe in different review later. I traveled by this train earlier. By my experience, I have come to a decision that don't book ticket for this train if you want to book ticket for Delhi in a premium train. Go for Rajdhani or any other Duranto Express. They may be slightly better, though I'm not much hopeful.
Firstly, this train usually runs late(1-2 hrs). It often exceeds this limit. While you are paying so much for premium train, this is not expected.
Secondly, the meal given is of worst quality. The Chicken served to us in our dinner, I suppose, was cooked two or three days ago and kept in fridge and then cooked and served again. It was so vile to eat. The dal served was not of good quality. The roti was so hard that it could break our teeth.
Thirdly, actual time of reaching New Delhi was 11.30 am. But it reached almost 1-1.30 pm. they should have given lunch to passengers. but they finished their duty by giving a packet of biscuit worth Rs. 5 to the passengers. We could not purchase anything from outside as the train does not stop any station before destination. My empty stomach was burning with digestive enzymes inside, but nothing to eat.
Lastly, in spite of all these they came with a tray with some notes of rupees on it asking for tips. Think how shameless they are.
