Lately, whenever I travel by train I get this "eeks n eeww" feeling...all thanks to the falling standards of AC class. Just yesterday I was on the Raebareli-Delhi Padmavat express and to my horror there was a mouse strolling to his own free will in the IInd AC compartment.
There being only one IInd AC Coach on this train, the railway guys still find it difficult to keep it clean...so, u can only imagine the condition if u r travelling on a train with several AC coaches....there is an absolute lack of maintenance, window panes coated with dust, soiled dirty looking floors, torn pillows n rotten blankets..
God knows whether they ever wash them. Also, there is a total absence of pest control....probably coz railway guys are afraid of the animal rights activitist who might protest if they kill a cockroach or two........pathetic!!!!!!! And then there is this gush of stinking air flowing throught the AC vents at regular intervals which wud make u puke!
To add to the painful saga is the AC regulator which always goes for a toss, u r left to the mercy of the attendant who will either make it so warm that u start getting suffocated or he will make it so cold that u will freeze...In short, even if you are ready to pay more, all u will get is disgust.....no value for money!
