Videocon d2h is the best ! Researched and Reviewed. Review on General Tips on DTH Service

This is not a mere "my product is best" review but a research done in 2 months.All reviews are done with SD services and not HD, as a majority of population subscribe SD channels. Its a common practice to grab attention of people with regional ads. But to provide something disappointing in the end.

In a research done by five people of our team having relevant experience, we find out who is the most cost effective and reliable service provider.

In our review we include only dth STB providers and not include any cable operators like sify, hathway etc. Also we would not like to mention other STB names as it is our opinion only. Others might prefer their own brand. We review them as brand 1 - 5 and as we mention its offers you might get to know who is it.

Brand 1: Proposed as most popular with great ads. Provides all standard channels. There is no limit to the highest subscription a monthly bill can range from Rs.350 to Rs.1200 or more for SD / HD

What you get - the dth believes a house contains only sports persons or house wives or business men but not a combo of all these people.

As a result you get packs as separate genres if u wish to watch sports u have to give up your sitcoms.

However you get it as a add-on pack and a South Indian who wants to watch all 3 regional language especially citizens of Bangalore will be paying another electricity bill. One must have at least 4-5 add-ons to have a good no of channels.

Brand 2: Even after paying more than Rs. 550 per month, the highest package, you can't see much of the high end channel in their package like Fox channels, "BIG" channels, nat geo adventure regional devotional channels,  audio feeds etc booking a STB is also expensive.

Brand 3: One of the oldest brand. Great pricing and good starters. Has highest Tamil channels. Have compromised on popular channels for southern region not much of a issue with normal channels but a South Indian will not be happy with just two free south addons as the combination is weird. 9 channels common in both and only 1 is different. When u select 2 free addons u get 18 channels by count but technically(9 common+2 diff=11 channels) 11. However for the highest plan having 4 free regional addons may suffice but not complete with at least 7 regional addons.

Brand 4: Newly emerged as a competent to other service providers. Proves to have a bad customer support, bad website layout and design, have not properly disclosed all available channels and monthly tariff. Lacks many channels, not much of channels included with each successive higher package. Very confusing. Each package is described as a super set of it previous. regional packs take a hit. Out of competition.

Brand 5: Concentrated much on southern India. Suits the rural parts of India best as the highest pack in SD wont exceed more than Rs.300. Focus is on regional channels, yet lacks a lot of channels in tamil. DTH with the least no of channels available to air. Even addons are incomplete. Website load time is very slow and single customer care number makes less responsive.

Finally with all such issues in mind, with much hype and poised by ads we were exhausted with these DTH providers. The final candidate Videocon D2h being the least popular in terms of ads prompted us to be reviewed at end. However things were different.

As we started our review as a part of our campaign the site had really exciting things for us. SD and  HD channels clearly separated from each other unlike others. Going with SD. Clearly sorted packages starting from basic one at Rs 150 pm best for home staying people, adding all sport channels to it for some extra bucks. each addon has unique channels and with just a single south addon for extra cost you can have all telugu, tamil and kannada channels with the base pack.(2 free)

The highest pack is 395 and has almost every channel you don't want to miss.

This package if subscribed do not require further addons(unlike other brands), except south addons as the package by itself has all channels included.

However one can manage almost full channels except 8-10 channels with Rs. 320/-pm. D2h also provides ergonomically  the best remote compared to others. Free movie channels is also a great feature.

The best feature is the second connection under same roof which have up to 60% off on package subscription. Single user will spend about 350 pm average for all channels and even less than 300pm if he has multiple connection.

Finally, the customer support is also great they have a call back function too.

Provides Mpeg 4 quality video, Multiple audio feeds for 5-6 channels.

Overall Videocon d2h is the best DTH service provider.
