This is my first review on mouthshut. I have decided to have Govt. gas connection in Bangalore although I did have a private gas connection. So I started to search on net  to know the procedure. Finally , I got the Indane gas connection. So here I am sharing my experience.

  1. First step is to get a Ration card. It is a time taking process but good thing is that you need not to pay any extra bucks.

Steps to get the Ration card:

a.  Remove your name from ration card from native. This can be done by Head of family. They will issue a NOC.

b. Submit a form of 20 Rs. to Bangalore Ration card office, with this NOC and rent agreement document. Office is located near to Ulssor lake. In front of one hospital.

c.  You need to go Ration card office again after at least a one month. They will take snap and finger print. (Note: This time you need to go with your all family.) You will receive Ration card.

I faced only one issue i.e. Ration card form was in Kannada not in English... There are some agents who can fill this form, charge 20 Rs. Now the second part come which is to take Gas connection (here need to pay some extra bucks) after having Ration card...

I  inquired all the three dealers HP, Bharat and Indane. HP and Bharat are charging very high. Almost greater than 5000 Rs despite having Ration card... They are making compulsory to buy Stove or some other package. Finally I decided to take Gas connection from Indane i.e. Shirdi Sai Gas Agency, Domlur only... Here also I had to buy something from the dealer. They just want to sell their items for their margin...

Steps to take gas connection at Indane..

  1. You need to send a Registered post by yourself at your address;.... (As per the IOCL site, dealer should send it free of cost but here you have bear it.)

  2. After getting this registered post , you need to create a affidavit...

  3. As I  had already stove.. you need to pay 150 Rs. stove inspection... i.e. IOCL rule...

  4. You have to go at agency again for taking Gas connection...

Charges :             1250   - Gas connection deposit single cylinder (as per IOCL)

150  - Regulator deposit  (as per IOCL)

200-   installation charge (as per IOCL)

325 - Gas cylinder price   (normal charge)

200 -  installation charge (as per IOCL)

Now I had to buy one Apron (300 Rs.) and one lighter(100 Rs.) from the dealer. As he was reluctant to give Gas connection (as he needs to earn some margin..)

Note: It total depends on your dealer.
