Where are the games?. Review on General Tips on Computer Games

I had been playing computer games for such a long time which made reach the following conclusions which we have to be aware of before choosing a game as me myself had lots of troubles while selecting the games.  The most important things you have to be aware of are.

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

There is nothing more upseting than the fact that you cannot play the game you bought after spending a large amount of cash.  It may not be due to any error or damage to the disc, most probably it may be due to your system not meeting the minimum requirements that the game demands, especially as you are running it in not the latest of the computers available at the time.

It will be a nice idea to get a trial version of the game and try it out so as to make sure that the game will work.  Even if the demo version doesn't work, the full version may work, but this is just to make sure that a gamer doesn't lose his money unnecessarily ie wasted.  I have faced this situation lots of times as my earlier computer failed to run the games Soul Reaver and Undying, but I am glad that it works in the new one.  If it was not the case, the games would been of no use to me.

IS IT WORTH WHAT WE SPEND?

We will have to make a quick analysis of the game before we buy it - just like what does it contain?  Does it include what we expect from it?  If it fails to keep us immersed in it, I strongly believe that it is a 99.99% waste and we didn't get what we expected for what money we just spent.  Don't just look at the covers of the disc to know about the contents.

It can surely baffle you.  Nowadays, the strategy games and action games have somewhat same front images and from the cover designs, it is hard to recognize the graphics, sound or special effects of the game even if there may be some screen shots at the back, but they are not large enough to get to a conclusion.  This makes the importance of playing the demo a must for good spending of cash.

NEVER LISTEN TO ONE PERSON

It is very important never to listen to one person and jump into any conclusions even if he is one of the best gamers - I am telling this because the choices of each and every human being is different.  But still there is not much a difference in opinions while considering the most famous games Unreal, Quake, Need For Speed, Grand Theft Auto, Hitman etc.

But still there are lots of exceptions for us to consider.  A game which got lots of admirers will be worth playing for sure considering which type of games each one likes.  I played lots of games listening to my friends of which only some has made me proud with its quality.

WHAT THE GAME PROVIDES YOU

1) Puzzle

It is quite a simple thing to say that a game provides a gamer with entertainment.  But it surely is not all about it only.  Arcade games depend mostly on the mind as they create high class riddles in front of you to solve to gain your victory.  The difficulty is to increase as you go to the next level.

Minesweeper is somewhat a puzzle game that is available with the Windows itself even if it got a bit of guessing and luck to help you on your way to success.  But its really good for those who wants to keep on thinking and thinking.

2) Action

Now the most played are action games which are all about killing your opponents.  It has been further developed, thanks to the Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena in the form of Death matches in which each player is to get maximum kills(frags) in the limited time.  It is not about that earlier style of killing those bad aliens and soldiers, but shooting at anything moving!

Thats quite an improvement  for quick players!  At the same time, the games like Thief and Deus Ex sepend on stealth and high amount of awareness as you have to use the environment to your advantage.  Just take out the frustration you have in your life on these computer bots who keeps shooting at you.

3) Adventure

This includes those games which does not have the high amount of action, but still manage to come across lots of adventures which are filled with thrill and excitement.  These games have a lot of history involving the most famous ones of their kind Mario, Prince Of Persia and Claw.

Even now these games are played especially recommended for kids for their low gore and violence and they some times looks very funny and even manages to be cute at times.  But the kids will enjoy them for sure.  Think about it, you may have to do the most ridiculous things to complete these games.

4) Strategy

It is all about the tactics and plans we imply to achieve success.  The game is all depend on how we play it.  The game increases our management skills as we orgainse the army, collects resouces, build structures, advance through time etc.  The strategy games like Warcraft, Age Of Empires, Age Of Mythology etc have created very high impact in the gaming world that more and more strategy games are being developed every day.

This has become my favourite game type in the recent times, but the only problem was that nice strategy games are harder to find.  Keep trying, try different ways - there are more than one way you can win the game.  Don't run away from your responsibilities in the game.

5) Sports & Simulation

Sports games include all the sporting events including cricket, tennis, soccer etc.  They also include those events which are not even very famous!  The fans are going to love this for sure, including me, myself.

Simulators include flight simulators, train simulators and even the people simulator from Maxis called The Sims.  It is just like controlling the real things as even if they are imaginary, they got almost all characteristics of the real object that it simulates.  They give quite a different experience for those who try them.
