What's in your pocket ????
May 31, 2007 04:19 AM 3512 Views

We’ve graduated in our civilization. From Stone Age to moon

age, From leaf-wear to sizzling-wear, from raw fruits and leaves to burgers,

from caves to roofs and finally from pigeon age to high-end phones age! yes we’ve

grown, matured and now mobile is one thing that rules the world! Most of the

ads convey few messages~ these ads many be of connection companies(airtel, idea,

hutch) or phone manufacturing companies(nokia, Samsung, Motorola  etc)

>Staying connected with friends and family

>To impress people~ showy baby;-)

>To progress in love life

>To stay ahead in professional life~ Xcel!

>To talk to the mother in the middle of the match(remember Sevag’s ad?)

>To pass the exams where invigilator isn’t wise enough

>To stay musical

>To handle emergency cases like delivery

>To placate long lost relatives and loved ones

> And lastly get the best gal in work place!

Well I cant think of one place where a cell phone is not

required! I got my first cell nearly 5 years back and now I’m addicted! I

take it every place I go! I drink with it, I eat with it and I sleep with it. It’s

just impossible to live without it! and please don’t think as if I’m a cell’o’maniac or

something. it’s the case with all my friend and known people. This addiction is

ever mounting in generation X(youth), generationY( parents)  and hopefully generation  Z(grandparents) will also come in this

category someday~ well not sure.

Let me come to the main theme of the review~ cell phones! We

can by and large classify cell phones in 4 categories!

>>Cool dude stuff~I’m  superior~ real high-end phones

>>Trying to be cool stuff~I’m second brother of cool dude~ they’ve most of the features*

>>Not so cool stuff~ I’m colored and I’ve FM~ basic feature+ added advantage of being lil musical

>>Not at all cool Stuff~** I’m in namesake~ just for

calling and sms’ing

1. Cool dude stuff

These most desirous cell phones, all the features like Bluetooth, Wi-fi, MP4, camera

over 5 mega-pixel, 3g, edge, visual radio, big dimension/display, internal

memory~ 8gb or something( presently only 1 phone is there for memory N91 8gb

addition), P2P, window enabled, series 60 or the higher version~ meaning all

the games on earth can be played. These phones are the coolest phones to talk

about! they’re next to your music system or your laptop! they’re mostly

glamorous, expensive, extra sensitive and the best to show off;-). Unmatchable

phones 4 people who’re gizmo freaks! There’s no single phone that can be recommended

under this category. Yet o2, vertu, N95, N91 etc are there to name a few….*

2.Trying to be cool stuff

*They’ve most of the features required to match the

requirement of leading trends. They’re coloured  with Bluetooth

, radio, MP3, camera – 1.3 to 3 mega pix, S40/60 depends, reasonably large

screen etc… they’re economical, next to cool dude stuff, and serves most of

the purpose. These’re for people you prefers to be technologically ahead willing

to spend with reasonable sources.  Again no

single phone as we’ve so many companies offering phones. Nokia 6233, N72, Moto

raser, Sony Ericsson w800i etc……

3. Not So cool stuff

They’ve newly

acquired few features. Besides serving the purpose of a good phone, they’re

coloured, with lots of ringtones, MP3/radio and sometimes even infrared. These phones

aren’t looked with a brow up. They range from 2000-8000, economical with

reasonable battery life. They’re moving behind the mobile-age. But still they’re

grabbing the chunk of the market consumers. No single phone, Nokia

6225, samsungC100 etc…

*4.Not at all cool Stuff

*They’re good as phone and sometimes not even good for that!

they serve the very basic purpose of calling and messaging. The screen is

always very small and without fail black and white, very few ringtones, limited numbers and

message capacity. They’re the most economical buy! My dad says they’re

the most long lasting eg  nokia 3310, you

play with it, dump it in a bucket full of water, throw it from 1st

floor, they’ll be alive and will ring if in the mean time a call comes. The battery

life is maximum with Zero connectivity!

*>>>My opinion to mobile people

The basic purpose of phon**e remains the same and is common in

all these phones i.e. calling and messaging. I know mobile phones have taken

place of mini PCs. But they cant be substituted with a PC/laptop. Markets are flooded with

new phones every now and then! if you can match the race go on and enjoy the

techno life flaunt it if you have it! but if you cant match the unmatchable

race, then say it proudly **mobiles are always kept in pocket! what’s there in

show off!*
