Converting Wagon R LXi Euro II to CNG

In June 2006, I have got my Wagon R LXi CNG kit from NUGAS Technologies and covered about 4, 000 kms as of today and the performance is great.

Total expenses - 40, 000/- at Delhi

Official Charges for Endorsement in RC - Rs 640/- ( As this kit is approved by Transport authority of Delhi so check out the site and look for dealers who are really approved.) You require some technical papers from your kit supplier that includes Kit technical specification, Cylinder technical specs and inspection report, installation drawing, permission by concerned department. With these papers you need NOC from insurance, PUC copy, RC copy. Although fresh Endorsement is closed these days by Govt and fresh notification covering Bharat III vehicles have to be announced. This is the scenario for Delhi.

Generally start on Petrol and run it for about 500mtrs daily and then give it automatically switces to Gas mode the moment you give high Acceleration.

On general running - I use it to drive about 65km daily and drive within the driving speed limit of 50 to 60kmph. I have used it upto 100kmph(Topspeed)  also but not found any problem with the performance drop.

On Fuel Efficiency, with 12kg cyclinder installed. I get about 7 kg of filling( due to hot weather) and it gives me about 150 km - 160 km mileage without AC. With AC running, the mileage come down to about 130 to 135 km. Though there is just a bit of power loss but negligible considering the amount of saving.

On Manitenance - Well just got service for petrol once but not  CNG. I make sure to clean Air filter of my own after every 500kms.

Very satisfied as of now. Kit from NUGAS technologies ( NGV Motori - Italian Brand ) is not giving me any trouble in last 3 months. I have covered close to 7000 km.

Avoid 14kg cylinder for Wagon R or light SUV as it makes the car bit loaded from back.
