We have used lots of CFL bulbs and LED bulbs for few years. While both are way better than incandescent bulbs(the yellow old cheap but electricity hungry bulbs), LED is definitely better than CFL. I will list 3 reasons, but there might be more -
More energy savings. I have noticed that a 14W CFL bulb is comparable to 10W LED bulb.
Longer life.
LED is the future. They will get better and better with time, not so sure about CFL.
LED bulbs were once very costly. I remember the first Philips 10 W LED bulb costed me INR 550. While the CFL was being sold for INR 120. But now they are not so costly, so it is worthwhile to inquire price of both CFL and LED bulb before buying.
