Initially keeping in view the mileage factor, I decided to book an Alto LXI. But lateron, keeping in mind the height factor and inner space, I booked new Zen Estilo. Thereafter, for the next 4-5 days, while commuting to office and back(14 kms each side from East Delhi to New Delhi) I counted the number of estilos. Sorry, to say that I could find only 25-30 estilos while I found around 1000 latest model of Wagon R on the road. Although I had personally enquired one or two owners of New Zen estilo who in fact recommended it, but somehow, I have changed my booking to Wagon R LXI. I have also heard that next year SPLASH(new Avtar of Wagon R) is likely to be launched, but it may cost at least Rs.50000 more and I am getting a discount of Rs.25000 at present and I cannot wait for the public response to SPLASH. Am I right? I am waiting for my Wagon R anytime now as financing through nationalised bank took some time but even today I could not see very many Zen Estilos on Road. Please feel free to comment.
Another issue I want to share is my experience with the sales represenative of this very reputed and oldest dealer in Delhi. The person proved to be quite illiterate. My personal survey with other dealers helped me in finalising the question of financing it from a nationalised bank. As this person gave me a totally wrong EMI I have to pay although I had interrupted him but still he could not calculate the right amount. Now, I still doubt his opinion on other aspects as well. The dealers should get a feedback form on the efficiency of their representatives.(According to him I was to pay around Rs. 400 more per month). Finance through nationalised bankis cheaper in my opinion as they charge 11.25 - 11.50% and ICICI, Axis, HSBC etc. charge around 13-14% with a cashback discount of 4-5% depending on the profile. But finally the customer ends paying higher interest. Also they charge 4-5% penalty in case of pre-payment whereas the nationalised bank don't charge any thing after 6 months or 1 year period. Also they don't harrass the customers in most cases and don't send their goons at your door step. Although they take around 5-10 days in approving the loan but still they, I think, are the better choice.
I have heard that in case I get my stereo fitted from open market, I may loose the benefit of insurance in case of any electric fault. Is it right?
