Choosing an ac simplified part2

Now there’s a new trend in acs its called Inverter acs they provide more efficiency and are silent and there are expensive acs which have the new r410a gas.

Inverter acs never switch compressors off and hence remove the huge power consumed during the kick in period for 10 secs. Instead they control its speed and changes capacities like a 1 tonne can run as a 1.3 tonne to cool the room faster and as low as a 0.3 tonne to maintain the set temperature.

Inverter acs are expensive and require trained mechanics to deal with since its fully computerized and has different settings. so do u really need an inverter ac? no if u dont use the ac alot but if u do then its more savings. also non inverter acs have 2 be correctly sized but invert acs can never be undersized or u wont be saving anything but if u over size say 1.5 tonne is what u require and u get a 2 tonne then ur temp will be reached faster and then it wud be controlled by lowering capacity but if its 1 tonne u got fro a 1.5 tonne room it will continuously run at its highest capacity wasting power and your cash.

now the r410a gas this is fully different from r22 which is common in India in even the new acs but stopped in other parts of the world it works on higher pressure then r22 and has different filling methods it gets contaminated if it gets in contact with the moisture in the air and hence vacuuming of pipes is necessary and all tools required to fill gas have 2 be separate and any mechanics wont do its costly although nt so. Although it has a global warming potential but not so much as r22 and guess with all these money making mechanics here who purposely leak the gas 2 earn money how much damage have they done to ur pockets as well as the earth so always supervise them, if you are a environmental person r410a is for you but if u want r22 sure your ac will most probably live till they ban it fully in 2020 or a bit early.

if your in a location that has chilly winters a heat pump or reversing valve ac is fro you it cools u in the summers and heats u in the winters how it works is simple wont explain it fully but simple ways during summer your ac takes heat from your room and throws it outside in winters when u switch it on to heat mode a valve reverse the flow of gas and takes heat from the out and gives it in2 ur room these are very efficient but as temperatures drop below 2c they decrease their heating ability.

now brands all brands will give cool air the difference wud be marginal but the real difference is the specifications and efficiency they offer

cheap acs: koryo(lucky if it works), whirlpool, onida, videocon

mid ranged a bit better then the last 1s: lg, samsung, kelvinator, electrolux, voltas, bluestar

high ranged provide good cooling: panasonic, hitachi, carrier, general(not the imported ones)

premium imported acs the best your money can buy very rugged and silent mostly imports from thailand these acs are the best in efficiency and noise levels only issue is finding an authorized dealer as if you buy from some who isnt authorized ur warranty is void also you need to pay fro installation and piping finding service if they d break down is not an issue for some locations others please verify:

Daikin, Toshiba, General(imported), Mitsubishi heavy industries(not Mitsubishi electric which are low on efficiency)

acs which manufacture their own compressors- hitachi, carrier, daikin, mitsubishi, toshiba, panasonic.

the others use compressors from the above manufactures and are different cause the quality is a bit low but yea they work well

thats it for now any help or queries feel free to ask

UPDATE: while doing some more research on inverter technology I found that these aircon inverters convert the single phase current to 3 phase current and 3 phase motors and compressors are more efficient. secondly some sites state that when using a non inverter ac to prolong the life of ur ac and to avoid unecessarily increase in power during the kick on period set your ac to the lowest comfortable temp u can bear say 22-24 why?suppose ur ac is at 26 u want 2 save light bills itl frequently cut on and off  causing an increase in consumption this can differ from locations but yea whats true is the frequent on and off will increase bills and also damage parts the first to get damaged is the run and/ start capacitor as they have a limit to a number of times in an hour a compressor can be restarted say 8-12 times secondly in some old acs if temp is set at 26 or 28 it can cool and cut of faster then the required duration the comp needs 2 circulate oil newer acs have a timer. remember saving money somewhere ends up spending money somewhere else. if u dnt want a very cool room keep the ac on when its cool enough switch it off and use a fan and open doors and windows sparingly and switch the ac on wen it gets warm saves more money and less damage
